Garden elevation -- strong horizontal planes and projecting canopies

The Moh Jaff Sayegh Villa builds on a formal vocabulary of bold horizontal planes, projecting canopies and the deliberate dissolution of the ground-floor boundary.

Wide terraces extend the living zones directly into the garden, and glazed walls at the lower level ensure that interior and exterior are experienced as a single continuous space during the cooler months. The project demonstrates Cipher's sensitivity to the particular rhythms of family life in Kuwait -- a home that works equally well at the scale of a formal gathering and the intimacy of a quiet afternoon.
